Kamala Beach in Phuket is the harmony of nature and relaxing holidays. Kamala Beach, Phuket: hotels, photos, reviews Where to eat, prices

Like most Siberians, my husband and I love to travel to Thailand, especially in winter, to warm up and take a break from 30-degree Siberian frosts for at least a couple of weeks. There is nothing better than to get on a plane and find yourself out of winter and snowdrifts in a tropical paradise among palm trees, fruits and, of course, the sea. But passive recreation on the same beach is not for us, so we set out to explore the island of Phuket, its sights and beaches. One of the beaches that interested us was Kamala Beach.

How to get where is

The most famous and tourist beaches in Phuket are located along its western coast. Each beach is located in a bay and is usually separated from neighboring ones by small mountains on both sides.

Kamala Beach is comfortably located between and Surin. Kamala is a little-known beach for Russian tourists, 20 km from Phuket Airport, which tour operators have undeservedly bypassed. Most package tours include accommodation on the beaches of Patong, Karon and Kata or on the elite beaches of the northern part of the island. Mostly those who travel on their own or those who, like me, like to learn new things and want to explore the island, come here.

This is exactly what we did when we arrived in Phuket on a package tour and checked into a hotel on Patong Beach. We rented a car and went to explore all the beaches of Phuket, since it is not difficult to do this, there are signs everywhere.

Unfortunately, we were not given a bike without driving experience. From the beach to Kamala, about 10 kilometers or 10 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bike. The roads on the island are of very good quality, the only negative is that they are winding, so be careful.

During the tourist season, there are boats on the beach that offer $ 40 (about 1500 Thai baht) to take you to Patong and back. Some use them instead of taxis.

In Kamala there is a bus stop (songteo), on which for $ 1.11 (40 baht) you can get to Phuket Town and back, but buses do not run often, every 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately, there is no direct connection between the beaches on the island using such buses, but if you do not want to spend money on a taxi, you can get through Phuket Town. For example, from Patong Beach you get to the final one (Phuket Town, Ranong Market), and then change to a bus to Kamala Beach. But keep in mind that one such trip will take you 40-60 minutes. Also keep in mind that buses only run until 6pm.

A taxi to Phuket Town can be reached for $ 17 (600 baht), to Patong - for $ 11 (400 baht).

For the route Kamala - airport you will be charged $ 17 (600 baht).

Description of the beach

When we were going to Kamala Beach, we did not read reviews about it, because. wanted to form their own opinion. And this is how it turned out: the beach is very clean, the sand is finer and cleaner than on the famous Patong Beach, lighter, more pleasant for the feet.

The entrance to the sea is quite gentle, the bottom is clean, there are no stones, shells and debris, the shallow depth stretches for a long time, which is quite comfortable for families with children, as well as for those who are afraid of big waves or do not like depth.

During the waves, the water becomes cloudy from the sand, but in itself it is clear. You can watch our video review of Kamala Beach below.

The beach strip is quite long, about 2 km long and at the same time not too narrow (up to 30 meters), so you will be spacious. Palm trees grow along the beach. Everything on the beach is quite clean and not crowded, unlike the most popular Kata and even more so Patong.

Of the tourists, mostly foreigners rest here, we practically did not see Russians, although it was the peak of the tourist season in Thailand. So for some, this factor will be key when choosing a beach for relaxation.

Ebb and flow

The tide is high every day before noon, and the tide is low in the afternoon. In the evening, the water rises again. Keep this in mind when planning your swim at Kamala Beach.

Infrastructure of Kamala Beach in Phuket, our reviews

If you come to Kamala Beach on a bike or in a rented car, parking is equipped here, so you will have somewhere to leave your vehicle.

When we were here in the winter at the beginning of 2014, sunbeds were still allowed, then by the end of the year, after the military coup in Thailand, sun loungers on the beaches were banned and everything was forced to be removed. The military, who came to power, was guided by the fact that public land should belong to the public, and not to private entrepreneurs, and tourists should not pay $ 3 (100 baht) for a sunbed. And because of the large accumulation of sunbeds on the beaches, the sea is not visible at all, the authorities wanted tourists to enjoy the pristine beauty.

After some time, in response to complaints from tourists, it was allowed to rent umbrellas that protect from the sun. But enterprising Thais took advantage of this relief and came up with a little trick with sunbeds. Now they are raking up small heaps of sand, laying mattresses on them, thereby imitating deck chairs. And it is convenient for tourists, and the way of earning money has returned, and in fact the law has not been violated, because. these are not sun loungers.

If you do not want to pay for impromptu sun loungers, you can sit on your beach towel brought from the hotel for free.

On the beach there are tents with Thai massage.

Other attractions include a banana and a water scooter. The price of riding a scooter is $42 (1500 baht) for 30 minutes.

Behind Kamala Beach of Phuket Island there is a small park where mostly local Thais relax, go jogging, outdoor exercises are carried out here, exercise machines are installed, and a small playground is equipped for children, so you can warm up if you wish, and for those who intensively goes in for sports in his homeland - this is a great opportunity not to fall out of the training regimen.

In the park, in 2006, a memorial was erected to the victims of the flood that occurred on December 26, 2004.

In front of the beach there are small stalls with fruits, drinks, boiled corn and Thai pancakes, the prices here, of course, are still touristy and higher than in neighboring Patong. For example, boiled corn, which costs $0.6-0.85 (20-30 Thai baht), costs $1.4 (50 baht) here, mango, which cost $2.5 (90 baht) / kg on Karon Beach, costs $ 2.5 (90 baht) / kg here 3.1$(110 baht). Coconut costs $1.7 (60 baht), and pancakes instead of the usual $0.85 (30 baht) are already $1.1 (40 baht).

Numerous souvenirs and other tourist attributes are also sold here. There are also massage parlors in Kamala, usually located on the first floors of residential buildings on the streets of the district.

There is even a post office in Kamala where you can send a postcard or parcel to your family and friends. You can find the mail by the red sign: Kamala Counter Service Post. There are no queues here, so sending a postcard to my homeland did not take me much time.

You can find exchangers on Kamala Beach, not as many as on more popular beaches (so it’s better to change there), but you still have the opportunity to exchange money.

Kamala is a quiet area where mostly the local population lives.

If, for example, on the beaches of Patong and Karon, all housing is mainly rented to visitors, and Thais go to these areas only to work, then on the contrary, mostly locals live here. There are also Muslims among them. There are not as many of them as in the neighboring Surin district, but nevertheless, on the streets of Kamala you can easily meet a woman in a hijab, and do not be surprised if she is on a motorbike.

By the way, you can walk to neighboring Surin from Kamala Beach. True, this is quite dangerous, because. You need to walk along the route in the complete absence of sidewalks. But we were by car, so we didn’t take risks on foot.

Also, Kamala Beach is very close to Phuket's famous show - Phuket Fantasea. This is a bright costumed national performance about Prince Kamal, accompanied by acrobatic stunts, illusionists and elephant performances.

Accommodation on Kamala Beach

There are only about 70 hotels on Kamala Beach, which is why it is not overloaded with vacationers.

There are no hotels in the northern part of the beach, as well as no travel, you can only get here on foot.

Compared to the beaches in the north, Phuket's Kamala beach hotels and apartments (you can even find up to $280 equivalent to 10,000 baht per month) in Kamala are relatively inexpensive.

The average hotels on Kamala Beach are resorts located on the hills surrounding the beach, or at a sufficient distance from the beach line. Such hotels suggest a calm family holidays, and the average prices for living in them are kept at the level of $ 100 per day and above.

Here you will not find hotels with their own beach. All beaches in Phuket are public. And the hotel, from which you can more or less quickly get to the sea, leaving the room immediately in a bathing suit - Kamala Beach Resort, he is the only one here, the cost of living starts from $ 200 per day.

One of the most popular hotels is Kamala Resort & SPA 4*. It is located by the road on the very outskirts of Kamala Beach of Phuket Island from Patong Beach, 15 minutes walk to the sea, but it is believed that it has a fairly good location in relation to shops and the market, as well as excellent rooms with a kitchen. The hotel consists of 4 buildings, it is located quite conveniently, there is free parking for cars and bikes. There are restaurants, a massage parlor, a gym. The cost of the room, for example, in the high season in February - $ 75 (2700 baht) per day.

From 3 * quite well-known hotel Sungthong Kamala Beach 3 *.

At the end of the beach on a hill, there is the famous Novotel 4 * hotel, the cost of a day's stay starts from $ 85 (3000 baht). The section of the beach belonging to this hotel is considered the calmest, there are almost never waves here. It is often chosen by families with children, because. it's pretty small here.

Not far from the Fantasy show there are quite good hotels, for example, Moom - Tuk, Dengs Kamala Beach Resort

One of the budget hotels is The Mareeya Place 2*.

Alternatively, you can rent an apartment in a condominium 600-800 meters from the beach, for example, in Kamala Regent

In such houses there is a common gym, swimming pool and recreation areas. Prices from $ 55 (1950 baht / day.

Of those recommended in the most accessible proximity to the sea, we can distinguish: Kamala Beachfront Apartment, Grace resort, Coconut Garden. You can book on booking -, but you can check if there are better prices somewhere.

Where to eat, prices

In addition to the aforementioned stalls or macaroons, from which you can buy tangerines, mangoes, pineapples, small bananas, mangosteens, dragon fruit, coconuts, and many, many other fruits and cocktails, you can eat well in local restaurants. In one of these establishments at the entrance to the beach, we stopped - this is an open cafe, where tables are set under a canopy, there are many locals here. The food was prepared pretty quickly and we loved it! Tom yum soup costs $4.2 (150 baht).

A cafe can also be found at the end of Kamala Beach, if you go towards Surin, where the sandy strip becomes already quite narrow.

If you like to go to local shops and buy products to cook on your own, then a small Big C supermarket will be a great find for you on Kamala Beach. This is the only full-fledged supermarket in the beach area of Phuket, all other super- and hypermarkets are located in Phuket- town. And on the rest of the beaches, tourists are content only with standard 7/11 minimarkets (there is one on Kamala) and Famaly Mart. At Big C, you'll find fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and a host of non-food items. Another mini market on Kamala Beach is Tesco Lotus.

You can also buy local food at the market. You can find it if you go down behind the Kamala Resort & SPA hotel.

The market is focused more on the locals, unlike the markets on Katya or Karon, where everything is only for tourists. Here you will not find a single English inscription, you will have to choose only by eye. But you can be sure that if the locals buy food here, then you can be calm about its freshness and quality.

Prices on the market are good, for example, longan costs $ 0.85-1.1 (30-40 baht) per kilogram, for 3 peeled small pineapples they ask $ 1.1 (40 baht), petahaya (dragon fruit) - 2.2 $ (80 baht) per kilogram, cherry tomatoes - $ 2.8 (100 baht) / kg.

Also on the market there are clothes and cosmetics targeted no longer by locals. This market operates on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

***

District Kamala beach we really liked it. It is quiet, calm, everything you need for a comfortable stay. But this beach is definitely not suitable for those who are looking for outdoor activities, night parties - for all this you need to go to neighboring Patong. Everything here is for relaxation. It is also believed that this beach has some of the most beautiful sunsets in Phuket. Be sure to check it out yourself;) In order not to be disappointed, plan to visit Kamala Phuket Beach in December-February - during the highest and calmest season in terms of waves and study the reviews.

Kamala Beach is the best beach in Phuket in our opinion. Our preferences do not always coincide, but we both liked Kamala at first sight. Kamala has a calm sea, pleasant sand, few tourists and all the necessary infrastructure. We were lucky to live on Kamala for a whole month, and during this time the beach did not have time to get bored.

Kamala Beach, Phuket

Kamala Beach: description and impressions

What a beauty! are the first thoughts that come to mind when approaching the beach. And what a blue water! There are no waves, you can swim! We take off the flip flops - the sand is so soft and fine, as if you are walking on fluff. And there are so few tourists! I've been on the beach for 10 minutes and I haven't heard a single Russian word yet.. Is this really Phuket??

Kamala beach. Phuket

Kamala is a great place to stay in Phuket

The water is clean, although not always crystal clear. For a month, I have never touched any debris in the water. There are usually no waves at all or they are very small, only on some days there are medium waves that you can jump on. Sometimes biting is felt in the water - a feature of all Phuket beaches. We did not understand who bites, small plankton or tiny jellyfish.

Entry into the water is pleasant and smooth, the bottom is sandy without stones and shells. I would even say that the entry and bottom here are just perfect. To a depth of "neck" meters 30-40. There are specially fenced safe areas for swimming, where lifeguards are on duty and boats do not swim. But at low tide, the water leaves and swimming is complicated by the fact that it becomes very shallow.

Waves on Kamala

Few Russian tourists

There are generally few tourists on Kamala when compared with the most famous beaches - Kata, Karon and Patong. The resort is not very popular among Russian-speaking tourists. When we arrived here, I heard Russian speech only on the third day. And I thought that Phuket is the second Pattaya in terms of the number of compatriots. Mostly Europeans, Germans and British, and the Chinese, of course, rest here. An American accent is also sometimes heard.

At the end of November, with the onset of the high season, more Russians appeared. Now on the beach, nationalities are mixed in approximately the same proportions. However, according to my observations, the Russians on this beach are not some kind of cattle, but rather decent people. There was no such thing as someone swearing on the entire beach, sorting things out or staggering around drunk. On this beach for the motherland is not ashamed

How to sunbathe? Sunbed with umbrellas and shade from palm trees

Phuket now has sun loungers again. An umbrella is placed between them. The amenities are not free. Prices like 200 baht for 2 sun loungers and an umbrella. If the price has changed, write in the comments.

These are homemade deck chairs

If you don’t want to pay for a sun lounger, you can always sit anywhere on the beach on your towel. There will be a shade under the palm trees until about noon, so umbrellas are not particularly needed. The main thing is not to lie down under a palm tree with coconuts. On most palm trees they are cut off, but for some reason some palm trees are not touched.

Resting in the shade of palm trees

Beach entertainment

From the entertainment offered jet skis, banana and parasailing. 30 minutes on a scooter costs 1500 baht. They didn’t know about a banana and a parachute, but I think it costs no less to fly. There are also several massage points in the middle part of the beach.

Cafes and restaurants

There are several beach cafes right on the sand, which are open from 10 am until late in the evening. In the middle part there are several bars and cheap street cafes "for the locals", in which tourists mostly eat. Prices do not differ much from ordinary Thai cafes, well, maybe a little more expensive, because on the first line.

beach cafes

Cheap Thai cafes

Near Thai cafes there are always a few macaroons, in which we often took banana pancakes for 40 baht. This is slightly more expensive than on the main road, where the same pancake costs 30 baht. By the way, in these cafes you can eat with your own drinks. I don't know about alcohol, but we used to bring our own soda from 7-Eleven.

Many merchants

Merchants are unobtrusive, just say know or ignore. But they can quickly get bored with the fact that they come up to you 5 times a day with their elephants, scarves and fake watches.

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - Kiwi Taxi
Ordered a taxi online, paid by card. We were greeted at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You have already talked about your experience in this article

The process of hilling tourists

deserted beach

In the far right corner of Kamala near the mountain is the famous Novotel. Between the central beach and the Novotel beach, a deserted semi-wild area stretches. Here you can sit in such a way that there will not be a single tourist within a radius of 100 meters from you.

Deserted part of Kamala

Do you still think Kata Beach is the best in Phuket? Read on. V near the wild beach there is such a paradise meadow:

The best of the exotic

Novotel beach

Passing the wild beach, we find ourselves on the beach of the Novotel hotel. This is a small corner lagoon, so there is always a calm sea. Casuarina trees grow on the shore, which provide shade and exude a pleasant coniferous smell. Great place to swim with kids. But we didn’t really like swimming here, as it’s very shallow.

low tides

Every day there are ebb tides, sometimes quite strong. I don't like swimming at low tide. Usually around 10-12 am there is always a high tide, and the low tide begins closer to dinner. By the evening the water comes again. Sometimes the tide is out early in the morning. I remotely determined whether it was low tide or high tide by the level of the water in the stinky river that flows into the sea. Rivers fill up at high tide and dry up at low tide.

Low tide. Photo in the left inaccessible part of the beach

stink rivers

Like all beaches in Phuket, Kamala has one unpleasant feature - 3 stinky rivers flow into the sea. While swimming, you don’t think about it, and it’s not noticeable that some kind of sewage floated in the water or unpleasant odors hovered. Maybe the current is taking it away from the beach. But every time, passing by such a river, you try once again not to inhale its pungent, fetid aroma.

stink river at high tide

By the way, in this temple, which is in the photo above, we recently noted a large Thai.

The left corner of the beach, where one of the rivers flows, is used for parking boats

sunsets

I would like to end the article on something more positive than a description of smelly rivers. Kamala has great sunsets. To enjoy the sunset as much as possible, I advise you to go towards Novotel, because the mountain will block the sunset on the central part of the beach.

Kamala Map

Useful points are marked on the following diagram: places for swimming, 7-elevens, the only toilet (10 baht), cafes, and mini markets with beach accessories and souvenirs:

How to get to Kamala

In principle, you can get there cheaper by public transport, but it will take longer, since you first have to travel by minibus across the entire island to Phuket Town (100 baht), and then change to a Kamal bus (40 baht). Total 140 baht per person. If you are well oriented in Phuket, then you can shorten the path, get off right after the Heroes Monument, cross the road and catch a bus to Kamala. But keep in mind that buses run only until 17-18 hours. - no longer relevant! Now he is walking in Phuket, where you can get to Kamala for 150 baht per person.

From other beaches: if you have your own transport, then it will not be difficult to get there. Just follow the signs north of Phuket along the coast. It takes about 15 minutes to drive from Patong. From Karon and Kata drive through Patong.

If there is no bike or car, then you can take the Smart Bus. Or by bus with a transfer through Phuket Town. You reach the final (Market bus station) - at the beginning of the street there will be buses to Kamala. As a rule, they are always written in English Bangtao - Surin - Kamala. Travel time is about 1 hour or more, as there may be traffic jams. The fare is 40 baht. These buses look like this:

You can also get there by taxi. A taxi from Patong costs 400 baht. But, you can bargain with taxi drivers. We went once for 300, another time for 350 ($10).

Hotels on Kamala Beach

We have selected several hotels in which we could stay ourselves. Hotels chose the middle price category, as well as the most decent budget options.

Best cheap hotels Hotels a level up, but not too expensive
  • KBC Boutique Apartment
  • Kamala Bungalows
  • Bianconero pool guesthouse
  • G1 Hotel
  • The Regent Resort
  • The Seashore Service Apartment
  • Royal Phuket Condominium
  • Kamala Resort & Spa
  • Clear House Resort
  • Sunthong Beach Resort

These photos were taken from a small platform, which you can find if you follow from Kamala beach towards Surin (well, or vice versa, from Surin to Kamala), not far from Kamala, not reaching Laem Sing beach, there will be a small natural platform from which this magnificent view of the entire Kamala beach.

Kamala Beach is an amazing beach in every way!

For us, Kamala Beach has become a source of harmony, natural beauty and a relaxing atmosphere.

First of all, it is very beautiful, it immediately catches your eye as soon as you approach the beach. Here, tall palm trees, lined up along the perimeter of the beach strip, are so harmoniously combined with sea water of a delicate blue-turquoise color and soft white sand, which, in the rays of the sun, shimmers and plays with different shades, from snow-white to light beige and even gray. -yellow.

And here are the happy newlyweds

Secondly, Kamala beach is not crowded and calm. In addition, the roadway does not pass right behind the beach, which gives additional silence. All this contributes to a calm, measured and relaxed holiday.

Length coastline Kamala beach is almost 2 kilometers, which is not a little, and the beach is about 20-30 meters wide, not much, but these meters are enough for relaxation. In addition, due to the fact that the beach smoothly passes into the embankment, visually, the beach strip seems to be much wider.

The sea water is clean. The beach is also quite clean and well maintained. There is natural garbage from palm trees and taken out sea wave, but we did not notice household garbage on the beach, it is clear that the beach is regularly cleaned.

For a quieter holiday and sunbathing, the north side of the beach is more suitable. It is quieter here than in the central part of the beach. Here, at the farthest, northern point of the beach, there is a 4-star Hotel Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach. The public part of the beach adjoins the hotel. Good coolness is provided by casuarina trees, which also act as a source of a pleasant smell.

The central part of the beach has all the necessary beach infrastructure. There is a toilet and shower, as well as some beach and water activities - banana and jet ski riding, parasailing over the sea surface. You can rent a boat or kayak. And for even more relaxation, order a massage and relax under the gentle and skillful hands of Thai girls.

In search of coolness, you can take advantage of the natural shade emanating from the palm trees growing along the perimeter of the beach strip, or rent a sun lounger and sun umbrella, there are a lot of those in the central part of the beach. Price - 200 baht per day for two sun loungers and a sun umbrella.

The southernmost part of the beach is not suitable for beach holiday, this is a more “wild” place, the coastal zone is dirty and boats are crowded.

Well, thirdly. If you have already forgotten, then, under these points, we list the advantages of Kamala Beach)). Thirdly, Kamala does not end on one beach, Kamala can rightly be called a fully developed provincial town of the same name. The promenade runs along the length of the beach, and in the center of Kamala there are several streets with an abundance of cafes and restaurants, bars and massage parlors, small shops and outlets, as well as exchange offices, hotels and guest houses.

A narrow promenade runs along the beach, one part of which is occupied by hotels, so it is more calm and conducive to walking.

In the central part of the beach there are cafes and restaurants, some of which are located directly on the beach strip.

Near the embankment, in the central part of Kamala, there is a small green park, which houses a cafe, a playground and a historical monument - Tsunami Memorial Park.

Monument to the victims of the 2004 Tsunami

Moving from the park above, to the center of Kamala, you will certainly go to the busy Rim Hat Rd street, along which there are numerous retail outlets, shops, massage parlors, exchange offices, cafes and restaurants, as well as hotels and guest houses.

Cons of Kamala Beach

For us personally, the minus of the beach can be called, perhaps, the rivers flowing into the sea. There are several on the beach. These rivers are far from ideal, dirty, but not smelly. However, swimming in the sea, you completely forget about it. In addition, the flow of "stinky rivers" into the sea on the beach strip is inherent in most Phuket beaches.

Entertainment and attractions of Kamala

One of the main and outstanding entertainments of Kamala is the colorful and large-scale show "Phuket Fantasy". Phuket FantaSea is a whole theme park with beautiful scenery, many actors and trained animals.

On Fridays, an evening (in Phuket it is called a night) outing market is organized in Kamala. At the market, you can buy clothes and souvenirs, as well as enjoy Thai cuisine, the dishes of which will be prepared in front of your eyes.

You can also walk to the Kamala Temple (Wat Kamala). The temple grounds are quiet and comfortable. And the bright buildings with red tiled roofs and the sculpture of Buddha are made in the traditional Buddhist style and are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. The temple is located in the southern part of the beach, near the school.

Where to stay in Kamala

Near Kamala Beach there is a wide variety of housing, ranging from the most expensive and respectable 5-star resort hotels, and ending with budget hotels and guest houses. All accommodation facilities in Kamala are available.

How to get to Kamala beach

From the airport by taxi, or you can rent a motorbike or car. Well, or, which is the fastest and easiest, you can order an individual transfer in advance. At any time of the day, at the airport, a driver will be waiting for you with a sign where your name and surname will be written. To order a taxi, it is enough to provide your flight details.

By public transport with a transfer in Phuket Town.

From Phuket Town

By songteo (local buses), following the route "Phuket - Bangtao - Surin - Kamala". Quickly, directly, without transfers. The fare is 40 baht.

From the beaches of Bangtao and Surin

On songteo. Or on foot. From Surin beach, the road is close and takes about 30 minutes, passes over the sea and along the cape. From Bang Tao beach further, but walking distance is quite realistic.

From other beaches and points of the island, also with a change in Phuket Town, rented bike or taxi / tuk-tuk.

How we travel cheap!

A universal resort for lovers of paradise beaches and beautiful nature. Great for couples, young people and families with children.

Direct flight Moscow - Phuket takes about 9 hours. The transfer lasts about 1-2 hours depending on the distance of the hotel.

The best time to visit is from November to April. The rainy season lasts from May to November.

All Phuket beaches are sandy, with a smooth entrance to the sea. On some beaches, the ebbs and flows are pronounced.

Phuket has many markets, small shops and shopping centers where you can buy cheap clothes, souvenirs, beach accessories, and cosmetics. Prices are higher than in Pattaya, but lower than in Krabi and Koh Samui.

The resort has many cafes and restaurants with both Thai and European cuisine. If you wish, you can find Russian cuisine.

Recently, Russian-speaking employees have begun to appear in hotels, in cafes you can find menus in Russian.

Hotels differ in the beach on which they are located: Patong is the noisiest and most active, Karon is the most beautiful, Kata is the most remote and secluded, Bang Tao is the most respectable.

About Thailand

The best time to visit Thailand is from November to the end of March. However, all months of the year, without exception, are hot, and the sea is warm. Summer is the rainy season in the country.

To travel to Thailand you only need a passport - no visa is needed.

The flight from Moscow to Thailand lasts about 9 hours.

Upon check-in, hotel staff usually ask for a deposit for the room. The amount of the deposit is about 50 US dollars (depending on the hotel).

When buying a tour to Thailand, they usually choose only breakfast at the hotel. Tourists prefer to have lunch and dinner in numerous and inexpensive restaurants or cafes.

Never drink tap water! It is better to take medicines with you, in local pharmacies there will be only non-traditional medicines.

After Phuket's most famous and crowded beach, Patong, Kamala's long, wide beach is a real breath of fresh air. Beach framed by picturesque casuarinas perfect for swimming and relaxing. Even in the rainy season there are people here - however, mostly locals than tourists who try to surf the intensified waves.

Compared to other cities and towns in Phuket, Kamala is more like small traditional Thai village. Of course, there is also a tourist infrastructure (where would you be without it now), but you don’t have to go far to find a secluded place to relax, where you can enjoy authentic Thai food in a modest restaurant, where there are mostly locals, and not tourists (and this is an indicator of high-quality and inexpensive food).
