Bangkok pattaya distance by taxi. How to get from Bangkok to Pattaya. Bus is the cheapest option

TOURISTS' ANSWERS:

Air traffic. Utapao

Pattaya, the main tourist center of the country, has its own airport, a semi-military one, accepting a small number of flights, both domestic, for example, from the islands of Koh Samui and Phuket, and international charter flights - seasonally from Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Khabarovsk and Bratsk. Flights from Russian regions are operated by I Fly, Nordwind Airlines, and UTair Aviation.

Transport links between Utapao Airport and Pattaya do not look as busy as, for example, between Pattaya and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. From Pattaya Airport to the resort itself you can take a minibus costing $8 or a taxi costing $25. The transfer will take 45 minutes.

By the way, flights from Russia to Utapao are extremely irregular: they are either scheduled or canceled. Currently, the airport does not accept flights from Bangkok, but the schedule includes Russian charter flights from Kemerovo and Novosibirsk. But this does not mean that they will remain on schedule at the beginning of the tourist season. Therefore, the surest way to get to Thailand is still Bangkok airport.

Air traffic. Suvarnabhumi

Most tourists aspiring to Pattaya enter Thai soil through the main air gate of the country - Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The largest airport in the region receives both regular flights of Transaero, Aeroflot, Thai Airlines from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Siberian cities and seasonal charter flights from all major cities of Russia.

To Pattaya from the airport

You can get to Pattaya directly from the airport without visiting the Thai capital. For example, by bus or minibus. Tickets can be purchased on the ground floor at the counters near the airport exit. There are a lot of bus companies operating the Suvarnabhumi-Pattaya route; all you have to do is choose the most convenient route. So, bus routes costing $4 go through the whole of Pattaya, their final stop is Jomtien. Other routes cost $6, which also includes transfer directly to the hotel. Buses cover a distance of 130 kilometers in 2 hours.

The second option is to get to Pattaya by taxi. Cost – from 33 dollars, travel time 1.5-2 hours. The driver can also ask to pay for travel on toll sections of the road - about two dollars for two sections.

To Pattaya from Bangkok

You can get from Bangkok to Pattaya from the East and North bus stations, as well as from the Victory Monument metro station.

From the East Station, or Ekkamai, located right next to the Ekkamai Skytrain station, buses towards Pattaya depart every half hour from 5 am to 10 pm, travel time is 2-2.5 hours, cost is 3 dollars. Buses arrive at the bus station in the northern part of Pattaya, located on Nord Pattaya road. You should be careful and not take buses that have the number 2 on them, which indicates that this is not an express bus, but a local bus. This bus makes many stops along the way and gets to Pattaya in 4 hours.

North Station, from Moh Chit, is located one and a half kilometers from the metro station of the same name and Chatuchak Park station. You can walk to the bus station or take bus number 130. The cost of a bus ticket from North Station is also $3.

There are many minibuses departing from Victory Monument MRT Station to Pattaya. Cost about 4.5 dollars.

In the area of the main tourist street of Bangkok - Khao San Road, you can order a transfer to your hotel in Pattaya from one of the many travel companies. The cost is about 6 dollars.

A taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya costs from $45 - this is the lower limit of the cost.

You can also get from Bangkok to Pattaya by train, however, it is difficult to call this option optimal. Trains in this region are not as frequent as buses, take over three hours and stop in Pattaya at the Pattaya Tai Train Station, on the very outskirts of the city, from where you will have to get to the center by local minibus (costing just under a dollar). But a train ticket costs only one and a half dollars.

I don’t argue - from Bangkok you can get to any point in Thailand, there is more than enough transport. True, their location is more popular at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. But what about those who travel from north to south by land? Those. what to do if you discard the airport option, replacing it with an alternative - a bus station?

From Bangkok Northern Bus Station it is quite easy to get to Pattaya. Transport is a dime a dozen, the price is the same for everyone and is 130 baht. There seems to be only one road, and therefore the travel time is approximately the same (2 hours, +/-). But not everything is as rosy as it may seem after my words. Here's a real story that happened to us just three days ago. We took our tickets (officially issued tickets with numbers!) at the northern bus station. The fact that the bus moved an hour later made me angry, of course, but it didn’t make me want to swear. The biggest troubles were ahead of us. About halfway through Sukhumvit (northern road of Pattaya) we were the only ones left in the bass. Then a completely disgusting picture unfolded. The driver stopped the car and told us to... get lost, because he didn’t want to go any further. The tickets we had in hand to Jomtien Bus Station did not bother him in any way. He defiantly got out of the car and went to eat, and we were surrounded by Thais who were shouting like catechumens and making gestures, saying, get out. Finally, there was some passer-by who spoke more or less passable English, who filled us in on what was happening. I hasten to immediately object to the defenders of the “nice Thais”: they are not at all the same as they were just a couple of years ago! Why, even a year ago. The southern indigenous people have changed especially strikingly, although in the north of Thailand, thievery and swearing with flashing knives now coexist comfortably with radiant Thai smiles. Personally, I cannot say a single bad word about the Thais in the north of the country. But my opinion about the Thais of the south is very, very negative, which is connected not only with our “bus horror”, but also with what I am seeing in Pattaya now. But that's a completely different story. The moment we found ourselves on the road with our things (we have been traveling in this region for two months now), I was tearing and throwing. We had to get to the place. Everything seemed simple only at first glance, because this is not my first time in Thailand, the place (where we were thrown out) was roughly familiar and the final destination was only a few minutes away, which immediately turns into hell if you are with things and not light . The horror continued: all the tuk-tukers stopped for us demanded three hundred (the real price is no more than 20-30), because our despair was involuntarily visible on our faces. With the greatest difficulty, after an hour and a half, we caught one tukker who agreed to take us for 50 baht per person. It's disgusting at heart. Be careful and think about what you will do in such a situation. Here's a photo of the local scoundrel's car. At least don't get into this car.
Yes, by the way, it’s pointless to file a complaint about your driver with the tourist police in Thailand these days. The tourist police are now willingly covering for “their own”, ignoring the complaints of tourists. Hand washes hand, and the police, too, as you understand, are not the same today. How can I avoid a situation like mine? I have no idea yet. Apparently not. Taxi Bangkok - Pattaya costs 800-1000 baht, depending on your luck. I fully admit that now only bass from an international airport can be considered safe and reliable. The only trouble is that sometimes getting to the international airport through the whole of Bangkok is like walking to Jerusalem.

Getting from Russia to Thailand, and in particular to Pattaya, is not difficult for any tourist. Hundreds of planes fly in this direction every day. Basically, of course, these are charter flights, but in many cities there are also regular flights.

To come on holiday to Pattaya, you can proceed in two ways:

First– buy a package tour from a travel agency. In this case, you will not need to worry about issues of insurance, transfer, hotel booking - the tour manager will do everything for you. All you need to do is arrive at your departure airport on time and check in for your flight. At the Bangkok airport you will be met by a representative of the tour operator, who will already solve other issues for you with delivery to the hotel and check-in. You will also most likely have a meeting with your hotel guide the next day, who will be able to answer your questions about the country.

As a rule, buying a package tour to Pattaya, especially if you are flying as a couple for a short period of time, will cost less than an independent flight and will be more comfortable, since you will not have to worry about anything.

The most popular air carriers operating charter flights from Russia to Thailand are Transaero, UTair, Aeroflot. Travel time from Russia to Thailand, depending on the place of departure, usually does not exceed 9 hours. So, from Moscow to Bangkok - 9 hours, from Siberian Krasnoyarsk or Novosibirsk - 6-7 hours.

Second- fly on your own. This option is most beneficial if you plan to stay in Thailand for more than two weeks. Because by purchasing tickets yourself, you can choose the duration of your vacation. You can select the most profitable tickets on search engine sites on the Internet, for example, on the popular www.aviasales.ru. The essence of searching for tickets on such resources is that you are given the most acceptable flight options, and you do not overpay to any intermediaries. There are often discounts on regular flights with S7 Airlines, and you can find really inexpensive tickets. If you travel without a travel agency, you will additionally need to book a hotel yourself and take out insurance.

If you are planning to fly from anywhere in Russia to Pattaya on your own, then your point of arrival in Thailand will be Bangkok. It is from here that you can go to any corner of the country. To get from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya, you can use a taxi (order online or pick it up at taxi stands at the airport upon arrival), the fare is 1200-1500 baht. And the hotel in Pattaya is easily accessible by taxi (costs about 100 baht) or by inexpensive public transport.

How to get to Pattaya from the airport? This question often arises among travelers who are organizing an independent holiday in Thailand for the first time and want to choose an option for themselves that will make the route from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya as fast, comfortable and affordable as possible. In this article, I will talk in detail about several of the most convenient and affordable methods that will allow you to travel the route between the two airports of Bangkok and Pattaya with minimal expenditure of money and time.

THE CONTENT OF THE ARTICLE (you can click on the link for a quick transition)

How to cheaply get to Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport

Due to the fact that the main airport of Thailand is located between Bangkok and Pattaya, it makes sense to get to the named resort directly after arriving in the country, bypassing a visit to the capital (unless, of course, visiting it is not included in your plans for the first days of your vacation). So, you have arrived at the main airport of the country, having saved a lot of money thanks to the practical advice from the article. There are two proven ways to get to Pattaya from this airport: by regular bus and by taxi. I don’t even consider the plane, because... the distance between Suvarnabhumi and Pattaya is only 110 km.

Buses from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) Airport to Pattaya

The easiest way is after arriving and going through all the procedures, go down to the first floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport (Level 1). Between exits to streets No. 7 and No. 8 there are ticket offices where you can purchase tickets for a comfortable regular bus to Pattaya for 120 baht. Travel time is about 2 hours, with the final stop being at the southern bus station of Pattaya, in the Jomtien area (the intersection of Thappraya and Thepprasit streets). Bus service on this route is provided by Airport Pattaya Bus. Boarding and disembarking from the blue bus of company No. 389 takes place next to exit No. 8, under a canopy. Personally, I used the said bus in the opposite direction, i.e. I got from Pattaya to the airport: I liked it.

Bus schedule Suvarnabhumi Airport - Pattaya of the Airport Pattaya Bus company - table from the official website of the company (picture clickable). The website also states that buses from the airport to Pattaya departing at 21:00 and arriving at the North bus station at 22:00, not the South. The website also lists the ticket price as 120 baht (2018). Previously the cost was 124 baht and 132 baht (2014-2016). Please note that the schedule is subject to change (during the low season, instead of 16 flights per day, only 10 flights can be operated, i.e. the interval between flights in both directions increases).

The disadvantage of this method of getting to Pattaya from the airport by bus is the fact that at the time you need, there may not be any seats left on the specified bus. You will either have to purchase a ticket for the next flight and wait 1-2 hours (depending on the time of day), or use the services of another bus company - Bell Travel Service Co. The buses of this company are no less comfortable, but the fare is already 250-270 baht (depending on the THB exchange rate), and you can purchase a ticket in advance online (more on this below). Despite the higher ticket price for this bus company, the option may be even more profitable. After all, there are two big advantages: firstly, the indicated price includes delivery not only to the northern one (not far from the intersection of the Sukhumvit highway and North Street), but also delivery by minibus directly to the entrance to the hotel of your choice. This is very convenient when you have large luggage and you already know where you will be staying in Pattaya.

Transferring from a large bus to a minibus is carried out directly at the northern bus station in Pattaya and you do not need to pay anything extra. The second advantage of this bus company if desired get to Pattaya from Bangkok airport is the opportunity to purchase bus tickets online, through . The link will open a version in Russian with the selected direction (from the airport to Pattaya), which is very convenient, and you only need to change the date. Please note that in the search results they usually immediately offer VIP bus seats from Bangkok, which cost 400 Baht, and a little lower - buses from Suvarnabhumi Airport, 270 baht per person. At the same time, you should not be afraid that due to a flight delay or a long passage through passport control, you may be late for your flight. The company promises that in this situation you will be able to get to Pattaya on the next flight without any problems. You can buy a ticket upon arrival, again, next to exit No. 8 of the airport on the first floor.

Currently, buses of this company depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport from 8-00 in the morning to 18-00 in the evening, every two hours, i.e. at 08-00, 10-00, 12-00, 14-00, 16-00 and 18:00

Another way to get from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya is by regular buses departing from the bus terminal, which can be reached from Suvarnabhumi by the free airport shuttle bus in 10 minutes. Bus service to Pattaya is provided by several companies at once, so the cost of one ticket ranges from 106 to 250 baht. The first flight to Pattaya departs at 06-30 am, and the last one at 21-00. At the same time, cheaper buses with red stripes on the sides will take you to the North or South bus station in Pattaya, and along the way they will make frequent stops, picking up passing passengers. The most expensive buses, for 230-250 baht, will take you directly to the selected hotel (with a transfer to a minibus in Pattaya).

Taxi from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) Airport to Pattaya

Due to the fact that buses on the route Suvarnabhumi - Pattaya carry passengers only from 6-30 am to 22-00 pm, tourists arriving at night have to wait for morning at the airport, spend the night in the capital (article), or get to Pattaya by taxi . The last option is most profitable if you are going to Pattaya not alone, but in a group of 3-4 people. By the way, due to the placement of a gas cylinder in the luggage compartment, some taxi drivers do not take more than 3 passengers with oversized luggage.

The fare from the airport to Pattaya is currently 1000-2500 baht. If you want to get there as cheaply as possible, you should not order a taxi at the counters in the arrivals area (2nd floor), as this is the most expensive option. Go outside on the same floor and negotiate with the taxi driver yourself - a reasonable price in this case is 1000-1500 baht (depending on the time of day and your ability to bargain). The most reasonable option is to go up to the 4th floor of the airport (departure area) and try to catch a taxi at the entrance in which tourists arrived from Pattaya. Since long-term taxi parking is prohibited there, the driver will be the most accommodating and the probability of leaving for 1000 baht is quite real.

If you decide to take a taxi from the airport to Pattaya, you must either agree on the amount in advance, or go strictly according to the meter. In the first option, you need to immediately specify not only the taxi driver’s fee for delivery, but also clarify whether the specified amount includes payment for travel on the toll road (about 100 baht). If you want to use the meter, also ask about paying for toll sections of the road and remind the taxi driver not to “forget” to turn on the taxi meter. I think there is no need to say that the taxi should take you to the door of the chosen hotel.

Transfer from Bangkok airports to Pattaya

Another quick way get from any Bangkok airport to Pattaya is to order a transfer from the airport directly to the hotel door. As a rule, the service can be ordered directly on the website of the hotel where you are going to stay. The cost of such a service for hotels of different classes may differ significantly, so you should check it in advance. Having ordered a transfer, all you have to do is go through all the necessary procedures at the airport and, when leaving the arrival hall (2nd floor of the airport), carefully consider those greeting you: the driver should have a sign with your name in his hands. However, you should remember that the cost of such a service is often overpriced, so find out the cost in advance, and not all hotels have their own website.

You can also always use (link to Russian version), which will allow you to book a transfer from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya in advance. You will be spared long negotiations with taxi drivers at the airport, because you will know in advance the cost of travel between Bangkok and your hotel in Pattaya. Another advantage of this option is a full-fledged 4-seater car with a spacious trunk. This means that you can make a comfortable trip by dividing the cost between 4 passengers and the price will be the same at any time of the day. Finally, using Kiwitaxi you can pay for your travel online. This will allow you to avoid exchanging your money for Thai currency at an unfavorable rate at the airport.

How to get from Don Mueang Airport to Pattaya

Despite the fact that Don Mueang currently cannot boast of such passenger traffic as the main airport in Thailand, many tourists arrive in the country through this airport, because it is possible to board flights from neighboring countries. Since there is no direct bus service between this airport, where almost all budget airlines (low-cost airlines) fly in, and Pattaya, you will either have to take a taxi straight away (the scheme is similar to that at Suvarnabhumi Airport, only the price is slightly higher), or get there cheaply, but with transfers.

Firstly, you can get from Don Muang Airport to the Northern Bus Terminal in Bangkok, which is called Mo Chit. Just don’t confuse it with the metro station of the same name, which is about 1.5 km from the bus station. You can get to the station from the airport by bus A1, which you can take near exit No. 6. The cost of the trip is just over 30 baht, just warn the conductor that you need the bus station, because... If there are no passengers at the stops, the bus stops only on request, and its final stop is Mo Chit metro station (you need to get to the bus station earlier). Next, at the station ticket office, purchase a ticket for the next flight to Pattaya for approximately 100 baht. Travel time is about 2.5 hours. Buses run on this route from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Another option that allows you to inexpensively get from Don Mueang Airport to Pattaya is as follows: initially you need to get to the main airport (Suvarnabhumi), and then use one of the methods described above. The easiest way to travel between airports is the free shuttle bus, which operates from 5:00 a.m. to midnight. Travel time is no more than 40 minutes, and the shuttle buses are equipped with air conditioning. Buses from Don Mueang depart from the arrivals area, and at Suvarnabhumi Airport the shuttle bus arrives at the departures area. Another option: bus No. 554 and a minibus run between airports. The traffic interval is 30 minutes - 1 hour, the fare is from 34 to 40 baht, the travel time is about 50 minutes (the distance between airports is 50 km).

I hope the information contained in this article has convinced you that get from the airport to Pattaya will not be a problem even for a “beginner” independent traveler with minimal knowledge of English. If you decide to first get acquainted with the sights of Bangkok, and later go to Pattaya, I advise you to read the article, where I described in detail the most convenient and inexpensive options.

True, on the way you will have to change to a minibus.

They cost less.

From the city

There are several places in Bangkok from which buses and minibuses depart throughout the country. These are 2 stations (terminals):

  • Northern (Moh Chit Bus Terminal) ;
  • Eastern (Ekkamai);
  • point near the metro station "Victory Monument"(Victory Monument).

If you are in the very center of Bangkok, you can look for travel agencies at Khao San Road. Also check with your hotel or guesthouse about the possibility of buying a ticket to Pattaya. Sometimes this service is provided at the reception. But the cost of the trip can be 1.5-3 times higher.

Instead of a bus, you may be given a seat in a minibus. This is something like our minibuses. Due to their size, you will be very uncomfortable if you are tall or have a lot of luggage.

How long does it take to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya? The journey will take approximately 2-3 hours . The capital of Thailand is famous for its traffic jams. Therefore, if you are coming from the center, this may also delay you indefinitely.

Buses to Pattaya run in different classes. You can choose the VIP level with lying down seats, but their cost will be more expensive - about 400 baht.

Suburban train

You can get from Bangkok to Pattaya by commuter train . Very convenient, no traffic jams, but longer than by bus. In addition, the train will not take you to the hotel. To do this, you will in any case have to transfer to a bus or minibus.

You can board the train at Hua Lamphong Railway Station . It is located next to the metro station of the same name. The train runs on weekdays, only once a day. From Bangkok it departs at 6:55. How long is the train ride from Bangkok to Pattaya? A little longer than 3.5 hours. Cost of everything 40 baht, but in Pattaya the stops are far from the center. To get to the right place, you will have to take a taxi or look for public transport options.

Taxi

Another good option, but, as you understand, not cheap. The cost of the car is approximately 1200-2000 baht depending on the agreement. Since taxi drivers scam tourists in Thailand, it is better to rent a taxi at the official counters at the airport or order through the hotel reception.

You can get by car directly to the hotel or from the airport, and in just 1.5-2 hours. If you gather a group of 4 people, the overpayment compared to the bus will be quite small.

Car rental

If you have rights, then this is perhaps the most comfortable option. Not the cheapest, but you can use it throughout your entire vacation. Rental price from 1000 rubles per day (the longer the period, the cheaper). Plus, you'll have to pay for gas.

For Russian drivers in Thailand there are difficulties - the right-hand traffic pattern. Calculate your strength.

Bangkok and Pattaya, which is better?

It is incorrect to compare these two cities. Bangkok is the capital. There is a lot of entertainment here, but there is no sea. Pattaya has it, but it does not have such wealth and beauty as in Bangkok. It is best to fly to Bangkok and stay there for a few days. And, having already examined it, head to Pattaya for a beach holiday. However, if time and resources allow,

You shouldn’t limit yourself to Pattaya either. Go to the islands, the sea is cleaner there, there are fewer people. Or to the north of the country, there is nature, the jungle - real Thailand.

Enjoy your travels!
