We rated the best beaches in Pattaya based on three indicators. Based on this assessment, we compiled our own rating of Pattaya beaches. These are the indicators:
1) The cleanliness of the water on the beaches of Pattaya. It is important to understand that the purest turquoise water, like on Koh Lan or Similan, is simply not available on the city beaches of Pattaya. As a rule, the sea in Pattaya is muddy and muddy - at least within the city limits. But there are some drawbacks: due to the large influx of tourists, the beach periodically suffers from garbage, the water is also not always clean, and the abundance of people, the bustle and noise around is not at all conducive to a pleasant, relaxed holiday.
It’s worth going here to feel the spirit of Thailand and have a good time: go to a bar or strip club, rent a banana or kayak, dance at a disco. And then return home to a calmer area.
Cozy Beach
This beach in the Pratumnak area is not so easy to get to: it is remote, almost isolated, which is why families with small children love to relax here. Cozy Beach is calm, quiet, even cozy, there are practically no tourists, and the views around are incredibly picturesque.
Despite the only developing infrastructure, here you can rent any beach equipment, go on a sea excursion around the Gulf of Thailand on a boat, go to such attractions of Pattaya as Buddha Hill and the nearby Observation deck, from where a marvelous view opens.

A chain restaurant with an extravagant name, which translates as “Cabbage and Condoms,” surprises its visitors with mannequins dressed in costumes made of condoms and, in fact, condoms themselves, invariably brought to the client along with the bill.
Important! Just don’t try to engage in nudism here - the restaurant staff, with all their sense of humor, will not appreciate such courage.
But here you can eat deliciously and inexpensively, and then go out onto a beautiful lawn and a small isolated beach. By the way, it is buried in greenery. At night, the lights glow beautifully here, and you can also find a cozy children's playground with swings and trampolines.
The beach area of the Asia Pattaya hotel is also nearby: you left the hotel and there was already sand and sea. It is better not to walk barefoot: the sand is strewn with shells and you can get hurt. It is small - about 500 meters in length - the water and sand here are quite clean, and the territory itself is very well-groomed, especially the areas owned by hotels; there is a water park and an amusement park nearby.
Warning! You should not come here unless you are homophobic: there are indeed a lot of same-sex couples on the beach.
The infrastructure here is well developed, but you still have to go higher from the beach, closer to the city: here you will find grocery stores, bars, cafes and restaurants. Not far from the beach, by the way, are the main attractions of the resort: the observation deck, Big Buddha, Chinese Temple and the famous Pattaya Park.
Dongtan Beach
Dongtan Beach in Pattaya has its own characteristics: it is located on the territory of the former military base. Don’t let this definition scare you: in fact, it is very beautiful and picturesque here, moreover, due to the special status of tourists, there are not very many tourists here yet, the sand and water are clean, and the waves do not wash mountains of garbage to the shore, as happens on many other resort beaches.
There is a lot of greenery on Dongtan - it seems that it came out of some tourist photos - the area is quite large, but not crowded, there are no high waves, the slope is gentle, it is very convenient to relax with children.
If you go here for the first time, you may well get lost, because you will have to cross the territory of the base on foot. But the employees are always very friendly to tourists and will definitely point you in the right direction.
The infrastructure here is not yet sufficiently developed, there are no large shops or restaurants, but there is a yacht club, the best in the resort, and you can order a coach and a guide who will teach you the basics of sailing, and at the same time show you all the most picturesque places around.

Palm trees grow along it, in the shade of which you can hide from the sun. The entry into the sea is quite abrupt, it becomes deep almost immediately. The infrastructure here is well developed: sun loungers, shops, a children's playground, good seafood restaurants right on the coastal area. 8. Jomtien Beach
Jomtien is small locality with the beach of the same name (Jomtien Beach), located 4 kilometers south of Pattaya. You shouldn't expect snow-white sand and turquoise sea here. In general, the entire coast is well-groomed and there is no feeling of dirt. Compared to Pattaya itself, it is not very crowded, although the infrastructure is well developed. In 2017, the embankment here was updated, many trees and flowers were planted, sidewalks were laid, and overall it became much better.
7. Bang Saray Beach
About 30 km south of Pattaya there is a small fishing town with the beach of the same name, Bang Saray Beach. It has many hotels and guest houses. The beach itself occupies approximately 2 kilometers, covered with yellowish sand. The sea here is quite clean, the entrance is comfortable with a gradual increase in depth.
A long palm alley comfortably shades part of the shore. The infrastructure is very well developed, there is everything you need for entertainment and relaxation. Here you can almost always find empty, secluded areas without a large concentration of tourists and enjoy a wonderful holiday alone with nature.
6. Military Beach
In the Bang Sarai area, about 25 kilometers south of Pattaya, there is Sai Kaew Beach/Millitary Beach. It is named so because its territory belongs to the Thai Navy. But for a small fee they let everyone in. You can get here either by your own vehicle or by taxi; you can also arrange a transfer with a travel agency. There are not too many sun beds, sun loungers and tents for relaxation here and it is not always possible to find free space. The beach offers a picturesque view of hotels and high-rise buildings. In one of the areas you can see huge stones protruding from the water. They are a conditional division between private small beaches, some of them are well-groomed, but there are also completely abandoned places unsuitable for swimming.

Largest beach: Jomtien
If you don't mind a lot of people, trash and a little fuss, this is the place for you. In the area of the longest beach, Jomtien, there is something for every taste and price. And this, you see, is one of the advantages of the location.

All beaches can be described as clean, snow-white with clear water. If you dream of snorkeling and admiring the underwater world, go to Monkey Beach. There are beautiful rocks and lots of greenery.
One of the large beaches is Samae. Everything here is comfortable and beautiful. There are plenty of options for active recreation, cafes and restaurants. The only thing I would like to clarify is that you won’t be able to sit on the beach without renting a sunbed.
